Red Animal serves as a sophisticated emulation of the classic vintage Vox Continental 301 electronic organ, capturing its unique characteristics and sonic palette.

Instrument Background

Renowned bands such as The Doors, The Animals, and The Monkees propelled the Vox Continental into being one of the most iconic electronic organs of the 1960s. Produced in both the UK and Italy, this particular model was noted for its straightforward electronic design and feature set. Like many contemporaneous electronic organs, it utilizes a "Top Octave Synthesizer" (TOS) system, which generates twelve distinct waveforms corresponding to the notes of the organ's upper octave. The primary waveform utilized is a low-pass filtered square wave. Lower octaves are created through frequency division, halving each waveform's frequency until reaching the pedalboard tones. The instrument is limited to two registers: Sine and Master, along with four selectable foot lengths.

The sound engine implemented in GSi Red Animal mirrors that used in both the GSi Gemini and the Crumar Mojo 61, showcasing a commitment to authentic sound reproduction.
